danniel tostes is an independent curator from Rio de Janeiro, based in Geneva. His work focuses on emerging art practices, exploring storytelling and narratives that foster cross-cultural and transgenerational exchange. He is committed to creating projects that are accessible to a broad audience.

A significant part of his research is dedicated to documenting and archiving artists’ practices through exhibitions and videos, highlighting their power to shape the future by preserving and amplifying underrepresented narratives. His curatorial lens often centers anti-colonial critique, gender, sexuality, and collective memory.

As an independent curator, danniel collaborates with art galleries, independent spaces, foundations, and museums. He has worked on projects with Migros Museum, Pace Gallery, Swiss Institute Rome, Forde Genève, Systema Plus Marseille, and Basel Social Club. In 2024, he curated the booth and mentored artist Marisa Cornejo, winner of that year’s Swiss Art Awards.

danniel holds a Master’s degree in Curating, Art Criticism, and Cybernetics from HEAD Genève. He is currently the visual arts curator for Le Fesses-tival: a festival dedicated to bodies and sexuality, and co-curator of the 2025 program at FMAC – Fondation Municipale d’Art Contemporain Ville de Genève.
